How much came from the fundraiser thrown by Washington the lobbyists mentioned in the USA Today this morning?

The fundraiser that helped the town of Iola get a $485,000 earmark included in the budget. I am sure it was a coincidence that the earmark happened shortly after the Washington lobbying firm hosted a fundraiser for Congresswoman Boyda.

that article was stupid..why would it take a lobbying firm holding a fundraiser to get money for the district?

it was bad journalism

yeah I agree - that was a stupid article. Why would you say that in this one instance it took a lobbyist hosting an event to get money when she's got similar projects paid for to cities and towns that don't have lobbyists? That doesn't make any sense...

the police force my town got like $90K and i know they don't lobby for anything other than donuts.

The article sure points out how Congresswoman Boyda is a hypocrit.

Yeah because cities and counties don't have lobbyists.

the article doesn't point out anything of the kind! MILLIONS of dollars were secured for the district and all of that money was secured without the involvement of lobbyists...which means, regardless of what Iola's firm did, she would have still been there with money!

the very idea that she wouldn't have is empirically denied!

this is great news about fundraising...just shows the republicans people in the state love her no matter what they all say.
