Social Network Battleground

Sorry to be late- but with the holiday we got a little behind on our updates. Regardless, here we are back with our weekly update of how each of our major party candidates are doing in the world of social networking.

We're tracking Facebook and MySpace only.

Growth all over the place (save the Republicans on MySpace...), and Lynn Jenkins was even able to rebound of her lose of supporters in her Facebook Group.

Something's odd though- and it's something we hadn't honestly thought about before...why are Nancy Boyda's numbers increasing so steadily, while Ryun & Jenkins aren't growing as much...yet they're in an active primary? Shouldn't we see pretty dramatic increases in numbers, if only because Ryun's up on TV?

Odd...

Remember, each week we'll indicate any up and down movement by putting increasing numbers in bold and falling numbers in italics.

Old people vote and old people don't have facebook or myspace.

true dat!

actually, so far, old people have been tied with young people in participation in the primaries.

don't you hate it when conventional wisdom becomes wrong?

I hate it more when people make random far-fetched claims without any proof to back it up.

Please visit www.civicyouth.org for fact sheets on all of the primaries...and watch FOX News...they've been covering the amazing new turnout of young voters really well these last few months.

and what are you conservatives trying to point out? the young people aren't going to vote in this election?

what on earth are you actually trying to say? you've got the same data as everything else, you know exactly what the trend has been so far in this election cycle- young people tied people over the age of 65+ in nearly every state.

these charts get posted and you all go psycho saying they don't matter...why not just...get more friends? why, instead of ranting about how young people will never, ever vote- ever- just...get more friends.
