Memo to Ryun; Find a New Campaign Manager

In today's AP story about Jim Ryun's worthless new TV commercial, Ryun's Campaign Manager Kyle Robertson tries to explain why they went with it's particular message.

"A lot of what we're seeing and hearing from people is they didn't know enough about Jim when he was in Congress," Robertson said.
Yep, that's probably true- because Jim never ever talks about anything he might have accomplished when he was in Congress. So, how exactly does this ad fix that problem?
"What Kansans want to know is what makes the man himself, what drives him."
Um, WRONG. What Kansans want to know is exactly what you just said they wanted to know- they don't want to know about him personally, they want to know what he did when he was there. Does the Ryun campaign really believe Kansans don't know anything about him? Please.

The AP piece also says:
Nor does it mention any specific issues or even that he's running as a Republican.
What is it your running from, Mr. Ryun?

just that much more evidence ryun won't beat jenkins in the primary.

Uh huh. Still licking your wounds after the 35% margin in the recent poll? BTW, where is Team Jenkins' new poll? A lot of people are talking behind the scenes about receiving calls from her pollster, but it has been a month now. Bad numbers?

wow, jim has to have about the most whiney, annoying voice in Kansas politics. Did he have a muppet do his voiceover

it wasn't a jenkins poll...it was a DCCC poll for boyda

unless ryun finds something to say about himself that matters, jenkins is going to beat him...and this boyda supporter doesn't want that. :-)

10 Freaking Years in Congress .... and Jim Ryun's constituency doesn't know what you did?

Damn ..... must be a proud moment

And you tell about 2nd District voters what you did in this commercial by (scratches head) talking about how you were an Olympic athlete.

Was that your only accomplishment in life?

he still beat jenkins out of the gate

Beating Jenkins out of the gate does not necessarily win the race ..... Remember Howard Dean, Hilary Clinton, Rudy Guiliani, and I believe Nancy Boyda was behind Jim to start the race also

How did that race end Jim???

And Jim many Republicans may not know Lynn Jenkins yet ..... but when I talk with them they say one thing ... I don't want Jim Ryun again.
