We've decided to add a feature, which, probably, will be an every Saturday affair dedicated to monitoring how each of the three major-party candidates are winning the war of the social networking sites. (We're only leaving out the Libertarian and Reform Party candidates because we can't find any evidence they have entered the playing field...if they do, we'll include them as well).
We're tracking Facebook and MySpace only.
Candidate | # of Friends |
---|---|
6/14/08 | |
Rep. Nancy Boyda | |
FB Profile | 493 | FB Page | 820 | FB Group | 415 | MySpace | 1,912 | Frm. Rep. Jim Ryun |
FB Profile | 142 | FB Page | n/a | FB Group | 27 | MySpace | 12 | Treasurer Lynn Jenkins |
FB Profile | n/a | FB Page | 92 | FB Group | 265 | MySpace | 10 |
A little explanation: If the cell says "n/a" it means just what you think it means- that particular candidate didn't have one of those. For Jim Ryun, he has 3 different MySpace pages- we only included the one his campaign links to on their website.
Each week we'll indicate any up and down movement by putting increased numbers in bold and falling numbers in italics.

I'm surprised that there are so many of Lynn's "friends" that are not even from the district
i'm surprised either jim or lynn even know who to use the internet.
I am surprised that so many of Nacy Boyda's supporters are unable to read what they've written prior to posting the comment.
Bad time to make a typo.
